Hi, I'm Imogen Honour, founder of Balanced Imogen – a women's hormone health and nutrition platform rooted in a food-first, evidence-based approach.
After three years of formal training, I qualified as an AFN-certified nutritional advisor, specialising in women's hormone health. I believe true health is built through balance, not perfection.
Balanced Imogen was created from personal experience. After navigating undetected hormonal challenges from a young age, I went on to study nutrition to better understand my body – and to create the kind of resources I wished existed: clear, calm and free from overwhelm.
Balanced Imogen is a space dedicated to simplifying hormone health through realistic, supportive nutrition. Not quick fixes or extremes, but consistent habits that work with your body, not against it.

My Journey

My journey into nutrition began at a time when my body felt anything but balanced. Living with chronic stress, elevated cortisol and hormonal imbalances showed me firsthand how exhausting it can feel when your body seems to be working against you.
Over time this affected my immune resilience. gut health, mood, menstrual cycle and overall vitality. I experienced irregular cycles, painful bleeding and hormonal disruption that impacted both my confidence and trust in my body. Despite multiple medical consultations, many of my symptoms were dismissed. I understand how disheartening it can feel when progress is unpredictable and support feels unclear. That experience reshaped the direction of my work – I wanted to be able to answer the questions I was never given clarity on. Balance Imogen exists because of that.
My Relationship With Food
Food has always been central in my life. I grew up in a family where the kitchen was a place of connection – home-cooked meals, shared recipes and time spent together. My grandmother and mother shaped my love of nourishing, flavourful food.
For me, food is both science and comfort. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to reconnect with our bodies.
Through consistent dietary and lifestyle changes, I reversed pre-diabetes, strengthened my gut health and improved both insulin sensitivity and hormone responsiveness. That experience reinforced what we see in research – food and daily habits play a defining role in hormone health.
My Approach
My approach combines science-led nutrition with a realistic understanding of the emotional relationship many women have with food and their bodies.
